This Is How We Are Using Augmented Reality In Our Daily Life.

Augmented Reality: Biggest Technology Trend Right Now.

Are you a GTA fan and loving GTA street reels on Instagram? Have you ever thought about how these virtual characters came into reality, how just using a Snapchat filter makes a person look different from reality? These all are possible just because of Augmented Reality.

Augmented Reality is one of the biggest technology trends right now. From making people crazy on social media to make people's life easier by just sitting at home and trying how a piece of certain furniture will look in their house, Augmented Reality is trending everywhere. Augmented reality (AR) is an enhanced version of the real physical world that is achieved through the use of digital visual elements, sound, or other sensory stimuli delivered via technology. It uses the existing environment and overlays new information on top of it. AR makes it possible to see the real-life environment right in front of us with a digital augmentation overlaid on it like bringing dinosaurs into the real world, people interacting with virtual characters, kids playing with alien spacecraft.

Augmented reality apps are written in special 3D programs that allow the developer to tie animation or contextual digital information in the computer program to an augmented reality "marker" in the real world. When a computing device's AR app or browser plug-in receives digital information from a known marker, it begins to execute the marker's code and layer the correct image or images.AR applications for smartphones typically include a global positioning system (GPS) to pinpoint the user's location and its compass to detect device orientation.

Augmented Reality which we are using

  • Snapchat
Everybody loves Creating snaps on Snapchat. The popularity gained by Snapchat is just because of their AR lenses which enables users to create 3D effects, Objects, characters, and transformations while creating snaps. AR is widely used in Snapchat lenses. It transforms the way you look and the world around you.

  • Online Shopping
While shopping online One of the biggest challenges is that it doesn’t lend itself well to a full sensory product experience. In a real environment, you can try on clothes, touch fabrics, or see for yourself. But nowadays this gap is being fulfilled by AR. Many Popular brands like The Gap, Converse, Nike, L'Oreal are giving their shoppers a more real-life experience of using their products, aiding them in their buying decision.

  • Sephora
There’s a reason many women don’t buy makeup products online -- it’s impossible to know if you’ll like the lip color or foundation coverage if you don’t try it on, in-store. Sephora understands this struggle and created an augmented reality experience, Virtual Artist App, with ModiFace to ensure Sephora app users can see how makeup products will look on their faces via their phone’s camera. Users can also find out which tools or products they’ll need to apply certain products.

  • IKEA
One of the world's leading furniture brands IKEA has created its App with AR technology in collaboration with Apple called 'IKEA Place' which allows shoppers to see IKEA products in a superimposed graphics environment. The shoppers can see how a product they are thinking to buy will look at that particular place where they want to place it in their home.

  • Game Broadcast
In-game broadcast at the time of live streaming AR is used for showing performance graphs, scores, dashboards, player's details on the screen. During football or cricket games, broadcasters use AR to draw lines on the field to illustrate and analyze plays.
  • Netflix
To market season two of the Netflix original series Stranger Things, the streaming company launched a series of AR/VR lenses on Snapchat. With the lens shown in the video below, users could record videos of themselves walking through one of the houses seen in the show, as monsters called Demigorgons pop out of the wall.

  • Navigation
AR is also being widely used in navigation applications where people can easily find places with live views. Google has made available its Google Live Maps Live View AR( augmented reality) feature for Android and iPhone users. The App places digital directions on top of the real world to show you where to walk.

  • Instagram
Same as other social media, Instagram is using its own AR filters which are trending among people a lot. Instagram is letting GTA characters appear in real-world environments through its AR filters and people are going crazy about it.
